DENVER – Riding a six-match unbeaten streak that includes results against two nationally ranked opponents, MSU Denver men's soccer received votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II national poll, released Tuesday.

The Roadrunners are among the teams receiving votes in the most recent poll after putting together an impressive stretch that has seen them go unbeaten in their last six matches. MSU Denver's run includes a 2-2 draw against then-No. 1 Midwestern State and a 2-2 draw at then-No. 3 UCCS, two of the nation's top-ranked teams at the time.

MSU Denver most recently extended its unbeaten streak Sunday, earning a 2-0 victory over Westminster at the Assembly Athletic Complex. John Lucio opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Dominic Athearn added his first career Roadrunner goal in the 79th minute to put the match away. 

The Roadrunners enter RMAC play with a 3-1-3 overall record and have outscored opponents 12-8 through their first seven matches. MSU Denver has also recorded three shutouts during its unbeaten stretch. 

Junior transfer Ismael Reyes has paced the Roadrunners offensively, leading the team with four goals. Reyes has scored in three of MSU Denver's first seven matches, including a goal in the 2-2 draw against UCCS. 

Head coach Nick Kirchhof and the Roadrunners will now turn their attention toward the RMAC schedule, beginning Friday when MSU Denver hosts Adams State at the Assembly Athletic Complex. 

The national recognition comes as MSU Denver continues to build momentum heading into conference play. The Roadrunners' recent run has included victories over Lubbock Christian and Hawaii Hilo, in addition to the draws against Midwestern State and UCCS and Sunday's win over Westminster.
