FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Brandon Simpson had three personal bests, setting a school record in the hammer throw and improving his status as MSU Denver's second-best individual in both the javelin and discus, to lead the Roadrunners on Sunday at the Fum McGraw Power Meet.
 
Simpson placed 11^th in the hammer with an effort of 43.80 meters (143 feet, 8 inches), improving upon his previous school record of 41.34 that he set just two days earlier. He was also seventh in the javelin with a toss of 51.58 (169-3) and was 16^th in the discus at 39.45 (129-5). He continues to approach the school record in the javelin (51.71) and discus (39.85) – those records were set in 1971 and 1982, respectively.
 
Also of note for the Roadrunners, PJ Guidry was third in the men's triple jump at 14.15 (46-5 ¼), Brooklynn Jones was fifth in the women's javelin at 38.06 (124-10), and Teagan Garand was third in the women's 200 meters (26.50 seconds) as well as 11^th in the javelin at 30.19 (99-0).
