The No. 11 Metro State women's soccer team (10-1-2, 6-0-2 RMAC) tied Colorado School of Mines, 1-1, Friday afternoon in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) at Auraria Field.
Just two minutes into the game, Jen Thomas took a crossing pass from Becca Mays and tapped in her eighth goal of the season. The score remained 1-0 until the 78th minute when Kayla Mitchell beat the 'Runners defense to tie the score at 1-1. The Metro State defense did not allow a shot on goal in the two overtime periods, but could not capitalize on its one shot on goal in the overtimes.
The tie left the Orediggers and 'Runners in a second-place tie behind Fort Lewis in the RMAC race. Metro State will host Colorado Christian, Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m.
