Metro State Signs Five

DENVER, COLO. - Metro State College head men's soccer coach Ken Parsons announced the addition of five student-athletes for the upcoming 2009 season.  Austin Herring of San Clemente, Calif.; Marc Herschberger of Westminster, Colo.; Tony Moore of Arvada, Colo.; Kevin Pocalyko of Longmont, Colo.; and Kelli Roche of Fort Collins, Colo., all signed National Letters of Intent recently.  All five will be freshmen this upcoming fall.

"We are extremely excited about the addition of these five student-athletes," Parsons said.  "With the graduation of three All-Americans and next year's roster having seven more seniors, these players fill significant needs of the team and possess the characteristics we are looking for in Roadrunner soccer players.  They all have the ability to be significant contributors and we look forward to their future accomplishments."

Metro State finished the 2008 season with an overall record of 12-7-3 and 8-3-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, losing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Fort Lewis 1-0.  Three NSCAA/adidas first team All-Central Region players will return in the fall, led by senior defender Ryan Brooks, senior midfielder Tyler Hambrick and junior midfielder Steven Emory.
