PARKER, Colo. - The Metro State baseball team fell 7-4 to Colorado Christian on Saturday in the completion of a suspended game from Friday in Parker, Colo. The game on Friday was suspended due to darkness. Saturday's scheduled doubleheader between the two teams was postponed until Sunday due to snow and rain in the area. The Roadrunners dropped to 11-8 overall and 2-4 in the RMAC, while CCU is now 8-10 overall and 2-4 in the RMAC.
Chris Redding, Kevin Caughlin and Tyree Abshire each led Metro State with two hits. Kyle Orgill took the loss on the mound.
The Roadrunners took the lead in the top of the first as Redding led off with a single to right. He later scored on a base hit by Jordan Stouffer.
The Cougars tied the game in the bottom of the first and took a 3-1 lead in the third.
Metro State then tied it up in the third as Tommy Frikken hit and RBI triple with outs and then scored on the same play as CCU's shortstop mis-played the throw in from the outfield.
CCU again took the lead with two more in the bottom of the fourth. But the Roadrunners answered one more time in the top of the fifth, scoring one to cut the Cougar lead to 5-4. Caughlin brought home Stouffer, who had reached on a two-out walk.
Colorado Christian added two more in the bottom of the fifth.
