@MSUDenverBSB: Ryan Strain Selected to Coach at Prestigious Honkbalweek Tournament in The Netherlands

DENVER – MSU Denver Baseball Head Coach Ryan Strain will represent the Roadrunners on an international stage this summer after being selected to coach at the 2026 Honkbalweek Haarlem Tournament, one of the most prestigious international baseball events in the world.

Strain will serve as a coach for the International Globetrotters, a team comprised of players from multiple countries, during the week-long competition held June 26 through July 4 at historic Pim Mulier Stadium in Haarlem, The Netherlands.

Established in 1961 and recognized by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), Honkbalweek Haarlem has become one of the premier international baseball tournaments, annually attracting some of the top national teams and professional prospects from around the globe.

This opportunity marks another milestone in Strain's coaching career and provides a unique chance to work alongside players and coaches from across the international baseball community.

The International Globetrotters will open tournament play on June 26 against host Team Netherlands before facing Czechia on June 27 and Italy on June 28. Following an off day, the Globetrotters will return to action against Chinese Taipei on June 30 before wrapping up pool play against Curaçao on July 1.

The tournament's playoff stage will then take place July 2-4, with teams competing for the championship during the final three days of the event.

Known for bringing together elite baseball talent from around the world, Honkbalweek has served as a showcase for international competition for more than six decades. The event has featured numerous professional players, Olympians, and national team standouts throughout its history.

For Strain, the opportunity provides valuable international experience while allowing him to continue growing professionally as one of the top coaches in NCAA Division II baseball.

His participation in Honkbalweek further reflects the reputation he has built within the baseball community and provides another opportunity to represent both MSU Denver and the RMAC on an international platform.

The tournament begins June 26 and runs through July 4 in Haarlem, The Netherlands, with all games being played at Pim Mulier Stadium.
