DURANGO, Colo. - The No. 11 Metro State women's soccer team fell 1-0 at No. 7 Fort Lewis on Sunday in Durango, Colo. The loss dropped the Roadrunners to 9-2-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while the Skyhawks improved to 11-1-0 and 7-1-0 in the RMAC to take control of first place in the conference.
Nicole Schumacher broke the scoreless tie in the 56th minute, sending a floating shot from 20 yards out just under the crossbar.
After getting outshot 7-1 in the first half, Metro State held a 9-6 shot advantage in the second half. The Roadrunners put three shots on goal in the second half as well.
Alee Seehausen (Mesa, Ariz./Mountain View H.S.) stopped five shots in the game.
Metro State will play at Regis University at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
