DENVER -
No. 14 Metro State scored a season-high four goals in Friday's 4-0 win over Nebraska-Kearney at home.  The win improved the Roadrunners to 11-3-2 overall and 7-3-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while the Lopers fell to 6-7-2 and 3-6-2.

It was perhaps the most dominating performance for Metro State all season as it controlled play from the opening whistle, out-shooting UNK 32-10 in the contest, including 18-5 in shots on goal.

Madison McQuilliams (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield H.S.) broke out with her first multi-goal game since her freshman season in 2007, netting the first two scores of the game.  Nicole Pollack (Englewood, Colo./Englewood H.S.) had her first career multi-assist game.

McQuilliams and Aleah DeGeneres (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) each missed on opportunities in the first 20 minutes.  McQuilliams had a wide open shot from in front of the net just three minutes into the game, but pushed it to the right.  DeGeneres had a breakaway opportunity in the 20th minute, but missed left.

McQuilliams finished her chance in the 27th minute.  After her initial shot hit the crossbar from the left side, Pollack corralled the rebound on the right side and found McQuilliams for an open shot in the center of the box.

Caitlin Oliver (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) had two chances, including a breakaway that resulted in a difficult save by UNK goalkeeper Vanessa Leeper in the 42nd minute.

Scoring chances continued to pile up in the second half as DeGeneres took a cross from the right corner in the middle of the box.  But her wide open shot went directly to backup goalkeeper Marissa Niday in the middle of the net in the 54th minute.

DeGeneres found McQuilliams three minutes later and McQuilliams scored on a blast from the top-left of the box.

DeGeneres then scored 40 seconds later at 57:26, finishing her one-touch cross that came from the left endline via Becca Medina (Denver, Colo./Heritage H.S.).

Oliver scored her fifth career goal and first of her senior season in the 70th minute, working a give-and-go from Pollack and Ashley Nemmers (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.) on the right side.

Freshman Sarah Tanous (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy H.S.) recorded her first career shutout in her third start, making five saves.

Metro State will play its final home regular season game this season on Sunday at noon against UC-Colorado Springs.
