Mike Coffey (Highlands Ranch, Colo./ThunderRidge H.S.) delivered an RBI single one batter later to stretch the lead to 2-0.
Regis righthander Charlie Henderson matched Jamison, also allowing just seven hits in nine innings, while fanning seven. Both of Metro State's runs were unearned. Metro State managed just one hit after the sixth inning.
Jamison escaped a bases loaded jam in the third with a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning. He allowed just four hits the rest of the way.
The Rangers finally got to him in the ninth, scoring Zach Blakeley on Max Regalado's two-out double, ending Jamison's shutout bid. He then retired Scott Payne on a groundout to first to end the game.
The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday at Regis, beginning at noon.
