DENVER, Colo. -
Metro State's baseball dropped fell 19-4 on Thursday at home to Colorado State-Pueblo in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.  The loss dropped the Roadrunners to 12-14 overall and 9-6 in the RMAC, while CSUP improved to 15-13 overall and 9-6 in the RMAC.

It was all ThunderWolves from the first pitch of the game, as Mark Sayas ripped it for a leadoff double as CSU-Pueblo led 5-0 after the top of the first, sending 10 batters to the plate.  The Roadrunners put together a two-out rally as David Fox (Lakewood, Colo./Faith Christian H.S.) hit the first pitch he saw through the right side for a single to extend his hitting streak to 19 games.  Jordan Stouffer (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain H.S.) ripped the next pitch over the left-center field wall to cut the lead to 5-2.

But CSUP scored seven times in the second, using three hits and two errors to extend its lead to 12-2.  They added another in the fourth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh to lead 16-2.

Bradshaw Perry (Aurora, Colo./Cherokee Trail H.S.) hit a home run in the eighth, but the ThunderWolves pushed three more across in the ninth.  Evan Claus (Albuquerque, N.M./Eldorado H.S.) crushed a pinch hit home run down the left field line with two outs in the ninth for Metro State's final run.

Fox led the team with two hits, as did Perry and Cody Henry (Thornton, Colo./Legacy H.S.)Ted Jamison (Lakewood, Colo./Green Mountain H.S.) suffered the loss on the mound, allowing 15 runs (10 earned) in six innings to fall to 3-3 on the season.

The two teams will play a twinbill on Friday at noon at Metro State.
