Roadrunners Record Third Straight Shutout in Rout in Minnesota

MANKATO, Minn. -
The No. 5 Metro State women's soccer team recorded its third straight shutout victory, crushing Minnesota State 3-0 on Sunday in non-conference action in Mankato, Minn.  The Roadrunners improved to 4-0 this season, while MSU dropped to 1-3.

Aleah DeGeneres (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) scored just 10 minutes into the contest on a goal assisted by Taylor Nicholls (Littleton, Colo./Heritage H.S.) and Brittany Cito (Littleton, Colo./Dakota Ridge H.S.) as the Roadrunners took the early advantage.  The goal came after 10 minutes controlled by Metro State as the team had two corner kicks and one shot attempt before the score.

Goalkeeper Alee Seehausen (Mesa, Ariz./Mountain View H.S.) stopped a header in the 25th minute to keep the shutout alive.

Michael' Ann Karas missed wide with a shot in the 38th minute, but found the net a minute later for her first goal of the year, assisted by freshman Becca Medina (Denver, Colo./Heritage H.S.).  It was the first point of Medina's career.

A header by Nicole Pollack (Englewood, Colo./Englewood H.S.) hit the crossbar in the 55th minute as the score remained 2-0 early in the second half.

In the 65th minute, Ashley Nemmers (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.) scored on a header of her own as Karas and Pollack assisted to make the score 3-0.  The goal came off a corner kick by Karas.

Seehausen stopped a shot in the 72nd minute, MSU's second and final shot on goal of the game.

Metro State will begin Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on Friday at Adams State with a kickoff slated by 3 p.m.
