DENVER -
No. 13 Metro State scored four second-half goal in a record-breaking 6-1 win over Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday at home.  The win improved the Roadrunners to 9-1-0 overall and 5-1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while UNK fell to 3-6-1 and 1-4-1.

Metro State scored three goals in a span of one minute and 31 seconds during the second half, the fastest three goals in school history.  The previous record was 1:45 set on Sept. 16, 2007, as Katie Kilbey scored twice and Madison McQuilliams (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield H.S.) added the final one in a game at Adams State.

Aside from one brief second-half mishap that led to the Lopers' only goal, it was the most complete game played by Metro State this season as the Roadrunners controlled possession from the opening whistle and outshot UNK 35-8.

Jade Ryals (Monument, Colo./Lewis-Palmer H.S.) finally put Metro State on the borad 32 minutes into the game with her first career goal, as Tess Hagenlock (Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman H.S.)'s cross from the left corner deflected off Ryals' back and into the net.

Karisa Price (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland H.S.) added a goal four minutes later, finishing a cross from Allyn Parrino (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport H.S.) for a 2-0 lead.

Brandi Farley (Colorado Springs/Pine Creek H.S.) scored her first career goal, splitting three defenders off the dribble 35 yards out and carrying the ball into the box, where she created a breakaway for herself.

UNK scored its only goal at 52:21, putting in a rebound from Ashtin Pawloski as miscommunication in Metro State's back row led to two close shots on goal for the Lopers, the second one leading to the goal.

At 69:38, Abby Rolph (Golden, Colo./Golden H.S.) started the fastest flurry of three goals in school history. She fired under a diving UNK goalkeeper after taking a pass from Price in the box for the first.  At 70:39, Price scored after a turnover, dribbling to the top-right corner of the box and blasting a shot into the upper-left corner of the net.  Rolph scored again in a mirror image of her first goal, just 30 seconds after Price's goal.

The school record for fastest two consecutive goals is 12 seconds.

Danielle Quigley (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.) stopped three shots to earn the win and Jordan Simkins (Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman H.S.) played the final seven minutes in goal and made one save.  Price finished the game with a career-high six points off two goals and two assists, while adding a team-high seven shot attempts.

Metro State will host Colorado Mesa on Friday at 1 p.m.
