PEORIA, Ill. - Former Metro State men's soccer player
Steven Emory (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins H.S.) made his professional debut on Wednesday night with Major League Soccer's defending champion Colorado Rapids. The Rapids lost 2-1 in the Open Cup match, a non-MLS competition.
Emory started at midfield and played the first 80 minutes of the contest.
He made the team after joining the Rapids for training camp, where he led the team in scoring during preseason games. Emory is a native of Fort Collins and earned dozens of accolades at Metro State, where he finished his career during the fall of 2010.
