DENVER -
Metro State's softball team was swept in a doubleheader at home on Saturday, falling 9-1 in six innings and 12-4 in six innings to Colorado State-Pueblo. The Roadrunners fell to 6-14 overall and 3-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CSUP improved to 8-6 and 6-4.

Game One
Justine Bosio went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI to lead the ThunderWolves to the win. Marissa Reyes and Shannon Traxinger combined to hold Metro to four hits.

Annalyse Garcia (Frederick, Colo./Frederick H.S.) scored Metro State's only run, leading off the third with a double and scoring on a single Brittney Padilla (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo Central H.S.) to center.

CSUP had 16 hits.

Game Two
ThunderWolves third baseman Ariel Lopez belted a three-run home run and a grand slam in the first two innings in the 12-4 rout.

CSUP had 17 hits in the game.

Metro scored all four of its runs in the fourth. Kasey Nichols (Springville, Calif./Porterville H.S.) drove in a pair with a two-run single with nobody out. Mary Towner (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley H.S.) came home on an error on the same play and Nichols scored on a ground out by Kelsey Tillery (Windsor, Colo./Windsor H.S.).

The two teams will play a doubleheader again on Sunday at 11 a.m.
