CHADRON, Neb. -
Metro State wrapped up the regular season on Sunday with a split at Chadron State, winning 10-2 in game one in five innings, but falling 7-1 in game two. The Roadrunners are 25-25 overall and finished 22-16 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CSC finished its season 17-32 and 14-24.

Metro will face Fort Lewis at 1 p.m. at Regis University on Thursday in the first round of the RMAC Tournament. The Roadrunners earned the No. 6 seed and went 3-1 this season against FLC, the No. 3 seed.

Game One
Kelsey Tillery (Windsor, Colo./Windsor H.S.) extended her Division II home run lead, blasting her 22nd of the season, while reaching base all four times. She went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two walks. Kasey Nichols (Springville, Calif./Porterville H.S.) drove in three runs with two hits.

The Roadrunners scored in the first inning as Tillery led off the game with a single to left-center and scored on a single by Nichols.

Mary Towner (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley H.S.) led off the fourth with a home run to left, starting a three-run inning. Susie Oury (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.) singled and scored on Tillery's homer to center to cap the inning.

After CSC scored twice in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 4-2, the Roadrunners opened up a six-run top of the fifth. Chelsea Brew (Colorado Springs/Rampart H.S.) homered with one out and the next three batters reached base, including an RBI single by Brittney Padilla (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo Central H.S.). Molly Clark (Lakewood, Colo./Lakewood H.S.) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in a run and Nichols delivered a two-run single to right. Starting pitcher Aubree Maul (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain H.S.) drove in Clark with an infield single.

Maul allowed just four hits and did not walk a batter, throwing all five innings and striking out three.

Game Two
Metro led 1-0 in the fourth after Towner drove in pinch runner Sam Talmich (Colorado Springs/Rampart H.S.).

But Chadron State put up five runs against starter Jordyn Randolph (Arvada, Colo./Pomona H.S.) in the fourth inning. CSC added one more in the fifth and another in the sixth off reliever Brittany Moss (Northglenn, Colo./Northglenn H.S.).
