Box Score DENVER - Fort Lewis scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally for a 3-2 win over Metro State in the first round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday at Regis University in Denver. The Roadrunners fell to 25-26 overall this season and fall to an elimination game with Colorado State-Pueblo at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Lewis advances to the second round and will face Regis University on Friday.
Natalie Janes ripped a two-out double into the left-center gap, driving in Chelsea Rodriguez and Breanna Berens from first and second to win the game for the Skyhawks in the bottom of the sixth. Starter Kassie Haubert pitched a scoreless top of the seventh to seal the win.
Kelsey Tillery (Windsor, Colo./Windsor H.S.) put the Roadrunners in front 1-0 in the top of the third, hitting a solo home run to center, her 23rd of the season as she extended her Division II home run lead.
FLC answered right back in the bottom of the inning, scoring an unearned run after a two-out error allowed Destinee DeHerrera to score from third.

Roadrunners starter
Aubree Maul (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain H.S.) settled into a groove for the next two innings, retiring the Skyhawks in order in the fourth and fifth with three strikeouts.
But a one-out single by Rodriguez started the Fort Lewis rally in the sixth.
Both starting pitchers allowed just five hits. Maul struck out seven for the Roadrunners.
