Metro State will play at No. 2 Colorado Mines on Sunday in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Notes:
•   Sunday's opponent Colorado Mines ended Metro State's season in 2009 and 2012, and MSU ended CSM's season in 2010 at the NCAA tournament.
•   Metro State is making its 12th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, the longest active streak in Division II.
•   Head coach
Adrianne Pietz is 7-3-3 in NCAA tournament games at Metro State.
•   Metro State tied No. 14 Dallas Baptist 0-0 on Sept. 7 and No. 12 St. Edward's 1-1 on Sept. 13 after going 4-3-0 last season against ranked opponents.
•   Metro State is 0-2-2 vs. ranked opponents this season.

Noemy Polanco (Long Beach, Calif./Lakewood H.S.) has scored two of her four career goals in the NCAA tournament (four career NCAA tournament games played).

Abby Rolph (Golden, Colo./Golden H.S.) scored her first career overtime goal to beat Midwestern State in the first round of the NCAA tournament (
Karisa Price (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland H.S.) has two OT goals in her career, the only other Roadrunners with an OT goal).
•   Rolph had a monster weekend on Oct. 18 and 20, scoring four goals and two assists in two games, including the game-winning goal in each game.
•   broke the school record for consecutive games with an assist with five (Sept. 27 to Oct. 13).
•   Price was named RMAC offensive player of the week on Oct. 8 after scoring three goals with three assists in two games vs. CSU-Pueblo and Colorado Christian.
•   Price had a part in all four of Metro State's goals on Oct. 6 at Colorado Christian with two goals and two assists in the 4-0 road victory.
•   Metro State is 11-1-3 this season when
Jade Ryals (Monument, Colo./Lewis-Palmer H.S.) is in the starting lineup (she missed several games with an injury late in the season, coinciding with the team's slump).
•   This season's 11-0-3 record through 14 games was the best start since 2005 (started 23-0-0 before a season-ending tie in NCAA quarterfinals).
•   Metro State had a 0.41 GAA through 14 games (11-0-3 record), but has a 1.97 GAA over past six (2-4-0 record).

Shursteen Sharpe (Westminster, Colo./Mountain Range H.S.) had a career-high three points (1 G, 1 A) on Nov. 1 in the final regular season game at Western State after not recording a point all season.

Karisa Fernandez (Westminster, Colo./Standley Lake H.S.) made her first career start on Sept. 29 at New Mexico Highlands and made four saves in the 4-1 victory.
•   Metro State held Emporia State without a shot attempt on Sept. 15, the sixth time in school history and first since 2009 the Roadrunners have held an opponent to zero shot attempts.
•   Metro State allowed just one goal through the first five games this season, the fewest goals allowed over that span since allowing zero goals through five games in 2005 (did not allow a goal until sixth game in 2005).
