DENVER- Metro State defeated Colorado Christian 9-0 in men's tennis and 8-1 in women's tennis. The win increased the men's record to 9-14 and 1-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The win increased the women's record to 11-13 and 3-1 in the RMAC.
Men:
The Roadrunners defeated Colorado Christian 9-0 on Friday afternoon behind strong all-around performances including
Nick Baker, who did not lose a point in either doubles or singles action.
In doubles play the team of

Adrien Delvaux defeated its opponents in No. 1 doubles 8-3. In No. 2 doubles the team of
Nick Baker/
Alec Parmenter won its match 8-0 and the team of
Ryan Joyce/
Jonathan Evangelista won No. 3 doubles 8-2.
In singles play, Vlahos won No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0 setting the tone for the rest of the Roadrunners. Delvaux won No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-0 while Baker won No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0. In No. 4 singles,
John Qualls won 6-1, 6-1, while in No. 5 singles Evangelista won 6-3, 6-2 and at No. 6 Joyce won 6-2, 6-3.
Women:
The women's tennis team defeated Colorado Christian 8-1 on Friday afternoon to maintain its hold on second place in the conference.
In doubles play, the Roadrunners were able to take two of three matches from the Cougars by winning No. 1 doubles and No. 3 doubles. In No. 1 doubles, the team of

Alicia Holm defeated its opponent 8-4. At No. 3, the team of

Nicole Herrmann won its match 8-4.
In singles play, the Roadrunners swept the Cougars going 6-0 in singles matches. In No. 1 Singles Cromwell defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-3. In No. 2 Singles Holm won 6-2, 6-1. In No. 3 Singles
Marianne Evangelista won 6-2, 6-1. In No. 4 Singles Amos won 6-3, 6-0. In No. 5 Singles Herrmann won 6-0, 6-0. In No. 6 Singles
Sam Schall won 6-1, 6-0.
Metro State will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Hastings (Neb.) at 10 a.m. followed by hosting Colorado State-Pueblo at 6 p.m. Both matches will be held at the Gates Tennis Club.
