Box Score Wheat Ridge, Colo.- The Metro State women's soccer team was unable to hold on to the lead as No. 12 St. Edward's scored the equalizer with under a minute remaining in regulation to tie the game and the 1-1 score remained final. The tie moved the Roadrunners' record to 1-0-2 on the season. The tie moved the Rattlers' record to 2-0-1 on the season.
Metro State started to the scoring off in the first half when Brandi Farley scored in the 12th minute on a kick inside the box off the corner kick from Abby Rolph. The goal was Farley's first of the season.
Throughout the rest of the first half, Metro State controlled the pace as it outshot St. Edward's 8-5.
In the second half, the Roadrunners did not come out as strong as they only had two shots on goal while the Rattlers had 13. St. Edward's was finally able to capitalize on one of its chances when it scored the game tying goal with 53 seconds left in the second half.
In the overtime period, neither team was able to pull away from the other and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
Overall for the game, the Rattlers outshot the Roadrunners 22-12 including 7-5 with shots on goal. For the game, Nicole Jablonski had six saves.
Metro State will be back in action on Sunday when it hosts Emporia State.
