Box Score 2 CANYON, Texas - Metro State earned two wins on Saturday in Canyon, Texas, winning 7-2 over Tarleton State and 8-3 over Eastern New Mexico. The Roadrunners improved to 3-1 on the season, while TSU fell to 5-5 and ENMU dropped to 4-6.
Game One
The Roadrunners took advantage of a two-out error by Tarleton State in the second inning to score three unearned runs with RBI singles from 
Colissa Bakovich (Loveland, Colo./Loveland H.S.), 
Susie Oury (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.) and 
Dani Sandel (Omaha, Neb./Westside H.S.).
Leading 3-1 in the fourth, a two-run triple by Oury led to a four-run inning.
Freshman 
Cassidy Smith (Loveland, Colo./Loveland H.S.) was outstanding in the circle, scattering 11 hits and striking out three to pitch all seven innings.
Oury had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs batted in and two runs scored. 
Kaylynn Harmon (Erie, Colo./Erie H.S.) had two hits as well.
Game Two
Trailing 2-0 heading into the bottom of the third, the bats heated up for Metro State. A one-out double by Sandel brought home Oury to cut the deficit in half.
Harmon led off the fourth with a double and 
Mary Towner (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley H.S.) brought her in with her first hit of the season.
The Roadrunners exploded for five runs in the fifth as the first six batters reached base. Oury, Sandel, 
Kelsey Tillery (Windsor, Colo./Windsor H.S.), Harmon and Towner all had singles in the inning.
Tillery drove in Oury with a sacrifice fly in the seventh to cap the scoring.
Harmon was 3-for-3 at the plate and Oury, Sandel and Towner each had two hits. Maul pitched all seven innings and struck out three to earn the win.
Metro State will face No. 17 Angelo State (Texas) on Sunday in Canyon.
