Box Score 3 DENVER - Kelsey Tillery (Windsor, Colo./Windsor H.S.) batted 7-for-10 with four runs batted in and
Mary Towner (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley H.S.) was 7-for-12 with three RBIs as Metro State lost 9-5 (9 innings) and 9-4 before an 11-3 win (6 innings) in a softball tripleheader at Auraria Field on Friday. The Roadrunners fell to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CSC improved to 5-9 and 2-2 in the RMAC.
Tillery was 4-for-4 with three RBIs in the 11-3 win in Game Three and Towner had a pair of hits, including a home run.
Chelsea Brew (Colorado Springs/Rampart H.S.) also provided a home run as she and Towner went back-to-back in the sixth inning.
The Roadrunners had a season-high 17 hits in the third game, including three more from
Susie Oury (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.) and two from Brew and
Britney Thomas (Cheyenne, Wyo./East H.S.) to join Tillery and Towner with big games at the plate.
Dominique Garcia (Frederick, Colo./Frederick H.S.) earned the win with 2.1 shutout innings of relief.
Garcia was a tough-luck loser in the first game, surrendering five unearned runs in the top of the ninth inning with two outs. She allowed just one earned run in 4.1 innings in that contest.
Oury extended the first game with a two-out solo home run in the eighth inning. The Roadrunners finished the game with the tying run at the plate, loading the bases with two outs.
Harmon provided a home run in the second inning of the second game and Metro State tied the game at 3-3 after six innings as Thomas delivered a two-out RBI single to score pinch runner
