Box Score DENVER - Metro State fell 6-1 at Regis on Sunday to split the four-game weekend series with the Rangers. The Roadrunners dropped to 7-16 overall and 5-13 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while the Rangers improved to 12-13 and 9-9.

Metro State dug itself a hold early, trailing 3-0 after the second inning. The Rangers piled on three more runs in the fifth.

Gavin Purvis (Albuquerque, N.M./Cibola H.S.) provided the Roadrunners with their only run, blasting a solo home run to center field to lead off the seventh.

Ryan Baca (Loveland, Colo./Loveland H.S.) and Eli Ford (Casper, Wyo./Kelly Walsh H.S.) combined for three shutout innings of relief.

Metro State will host Colorado Christian on Friday at 3 p.m.
