Alex Walker (Wheat Ridge, Colo./Wheat Ridge H.S.) hit his first career home run, a two-run shot to tie the game in the fifth. MSU Denver then took a 4-3 lead after a leadoff single by
Mitch Gibbons (Franktown, Colo./Ponderosa H.S.) in the sixth and a two-out base hit by
Sean Reeves (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley H.S.).
Five of the first six CSU-Pueblo batters reached base in the seventh as they rallied for a four-run frame to pull ahead for good.
Nick Hammett (Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield H.S.) pitched five innings and surrendered three runs.
Ryan Baca (Loveland, Colo./Loveland H.S.) suffered the loss and
Mike Thill (Littleton, Colo./Columbine H.S.) pitched 1.2 innings, allowing just one hit with two strikeouts
