The Roadrunners improved to 25-11 overall and 19-8 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CSM fell to 16-25 and 12-20.

Kaylynn Harmon (Erie, Colo./Erie H.S.) went 3-for-7 with five runs batted in, a home run and a double. Mary Towner (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley H.S.) had a four-hit day and homered in Game One.

The Orediggers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, but Metro State responded with three in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by a two-run single by Harmon. Aubree Maul (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain H.S.) also drove in a run with a single.

Trailing 4-3 in the fifth, Towner led off with a home run to left-center to tie the game and Colissa Bakovich (Loveland, Colo./Loveland H.S.) drove in the go-ahead run with a single down the left field line, scoring Chelsea Brew (Colorado Springs/Rampart H.S.).

Kelsey Tillery (Windsor, Colo./Windsor H.S.)'s double in the sixth put the Roadrunners up 6-4.

CSM loaded the bases with nobody out in the top of the seventh, but Maul minimized the damage, allowing just one run and escaping with a pair of ground outs and a pop out. She allowed four earned runs in the game.

Harmon hit a home run down the right field line in the bottom of the first of Game Two, driving in Sandel to give the Roadrunners the early lead.

Trailing 3-2, Katie Deaguero (Arvada, Colo./Pomona H.S.) blasted a home run to center field to put MSU Denver in front and Sandel drove in Bakovich with a triple to left-center for a three-run inning in the fourth.

Metro State scored three more times in the fifth, highlighted by a two-run single by Bakovich. Harmon delivered an RBI single in the sixth to cap the scoring.

Cassidy Smith (Loveland, Colo./Loveland H.S.) earned the win and Maul was flawless for three innings in relief to earn the save.
