Women's soccer: Post provides winner in 1-0 shutout against Highlands

Box Score DENVER - Jordan Post (Spearfish, S.D./Spearfish H.S.) scored the game's only goal at 11:42 as No. 23 Metropolitan State University of Denver held on for a 1-0 win over New Mexico Highlands on Sunday at The Regency Athletic Complex at MSU Denver. The Roadrunners improved to 5-1-2 overall and 2-0-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while NMHU dropped to 4-3-1 and 1-2-1.

Following a foul on the Cowgirls, Alexie Marr (Longmont, Colo./Longmont H.S.) took a free kick from near the right sideline about 30 yards from the top of the box. Her kick bounced through several defenders before Post blasted a one-touch shot into the net from the center of the box.

Breanna Flores (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert H.S.) was outstanding for the Roadrunners in goal with a career-high nine saves to earn the shutout. NMHU outshot MSU Denver 19-to-10.

The Roadrunners are back in action at Colorado State-Pueblo on Friday.
