Box Score 2 Denver – Metropolitan State University of Denver junior Cassidy Smith (Loveland, Colo./Loveland H.S.) was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Smith hit .538 in four games at Western New Mexico with eight RBIs and six runs scored helping the Roadrunners. She hit one double and two home runs in those games. The junior finished the weekend with a 1.077 slugging percentage. Smith also helped the Roadrunners on the mound, throwing a three hit shutout on March 20 against the Mustangs.
The Roadrunners continue RMAC play on March 24-25 as they host Fort Lewis both days for doubleheaders starting at 11 a.m. at the Regency Athletic Complex.
