Canyon, Texas- The Metropolitan State University of Denver softball team will play No. 1 ranked West Texas A&M in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, May 5 at 5:30 p.m. MT.

The Roadrunners earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament after winning the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday, April 30 with a 4-1 victory over CSU-Pueblo.  MSU Denver enters the contest on an eight-game winning streak with an overall record of 35-17.  MSU Denver is receiving votes in the NFCA Top 25 poll.  West Texas A&M holds a record of 52-2 overall.  You can view MSU Denver's season statistics on the links above.
