Box Score Lakewood, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver defeated Colorado Christian to take the series 3-1, earning a 17-10 win in the final game. The Roadrunners improved to 22-22 overall and 18-12 in RMAC play.
The Roadrunners bats were hot, posting a season high five home runs in the game. Four of the five home runs were all three run homers.
Trent Maloney (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County H.S.) hit a three run homer in the first inning, senior
Hunter Donaldson (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge H.S.) hit two; one in the third and one in the eighth, junior
Draven Adame (Lamar, Colo. /Lamar High School) in the fifth, and senior
Cale O'Donnell (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain H.S.) hit a single run homer in the sixth.
Despite the Roadrunners strong offense, the Cougars stayed in the game the whole time eventually bringing the score within three. However, the three run homer from Donaldson extended the lead back out to seven in the eighth.
MSU Denver held on to the lead through the rest of the game to take the 17-10 win in the game.
Donaldson finished the game with six RBIs on two home runs. Sophomore
Cade Crader (Aurora, Colo./Grandview High School) pitched five innings for the Roadrunners.
The Roadrunners will travel to Colorado Mesa next weekend to wrap up RMAC play.
