COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Mikayla Renfroe,
Austin Davis and
Nick Nowlen from the Metropolitan State University of Denver outdoor track & field program each earned All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference second-team honors for the 2019 season, the conference announced on Monday.
Renfroe earned the award by placing fifth in the final of the 400 meters at the RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 59.99 seconds. He had run a season-best time of 59.32 in the preliminaries.
Davis placed fifth in the 100 hurdles at the RMAC Championships in 16.06. He won the event with a collegiate-best time of 15.35 at the Spank Blasing Invitational on March 28 in Pueblo, Colo.
Nowlen, the RMAC's Co-Freshman of the Year during the indoor season, placed fourth in the 800 in the Outdoor Championships with a time of 1:54.93. He had the fastest time in the preliminaries a personal best of 1:53.00.
Skylyn Webb of the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, Gina Coleman of Colorado School of Mines and Kyla Sawvell of Black Hills State were named RMAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively.
Deshon Elcock of UCCS, Isaac Grimes of Chadron State and Luke Julian of Colorado School of Mines won those respective awards for the men.
Ross Fellows of UCCS was named RMAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year, while Matt Sparks of Colorado School of Mines was tabbed RMAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year.
