Roadrunners legend is also executive director of coaching at Real Colorado

DENVER – MSU Denver fans may have recognized a familiar face while watching the Women's World Cup.
 
Roadrunners Hall of Famer Lorne Donaldson is one of the assistant coaches for the Jamaica National Team.
 
Jamaica, the first Caribbean nation ever to qualify for a Women's World Cup, plays its third Group C game on Tuesday against Australia in Grenoble, France, at 1 p.m. MDT.
 
The "Reggae Girlz," ranked 53rd in the world by FIFA – an all-time best – lost to Brazil 3-0 on June 9 and to Italy 5-0 on Friday.
 
Donaldson, a three-time NAIA All-American (1980 through 1982) is one of the greatest players in the history of Metropolitan State University of Denver men's soccer. He also spent three years (1983 through 1985) as a Roadrunners assistant coach.
 
In addition to his national-team duties, Donaldson is the executive director of coaching at Real Colorado Soccer. He was the 2017 United Soccer Coaches' Association Youth coach of the year.

Donaldson came to MSU Denver from Jamaica, where he played on the country's national team from 1975-79.
 
After earning his degree in physical education at MSU Denver, he went on to a successful youth coaching career in the Denver area after coaching professionally in the American Professional Soccer League for Denver, Tampa Bay, Los Angeles and Montreal.
