DENVER – It was 14 years ago today, Oct. 15, 2006, that Kira Sharp had two goals as the No. 7 MSU Denver women's soccer team, en route to its second national championship in three seasons, beat Colorado School of Mines 3-0 for its fifth straight shutout victory.
The Roadrunners improved to 17-1 overall and 10-0 in the RMAC while extending their RMAC unbeaten streak to 66, including 55 straight wins.
That performance highlights our latest installment of "On This Date in Roadrunners History," which looks back at the biggest accomplishments in MSU Denver athletics on that particular calendar day.

2017 – Yannick Schad and Teo Jukic each had a goal and an assist as the MSU Denver men's soccer team beat CSU-Pueblo 3-0 for its third straight shutout win while improving to 7-3 in the RMAC.
2017 – Reigna Banks and Delainee Evans scored goals as the MSU Denver women's soccer team beat Black Hills State 2-0 to improve to 6-3 in the RMAC.
2016 – Michaela Smith had 13 kills as the MSU Denver volleyball team, en route to an 18-0 RMAC regular-season championship, won 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-17) at CSU-Pueblo for its 11
th straight win, improving to 15-3 overall and 10-0 in the RMAC.
*2011 – Bri Morley had 14 kills on Oct. 15 for the third year in a row as the No. 12 MSU Denver volleyball team tied the still-standing program record for total blocks in a three-set match in the rally-scoring era with 16 in a 3-0 win (25-18, 25-23, 25-15) against Adams State to improve to 17-4 overall and 9-3 in the RMAC. Shayne Kovach had seven blocks (one solo) and Lauren Quijano had six blocks (two solo).
2010 – Bri Morley had 14 kills as the No. 18 MSU Denver volleyball team won 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-23) at CSU-Pueblo for its fifth straight win, improving to 15-5 overall and 9-2 in the RMAC. Ngoc Phan had 20 digs.
2010 – Becca Medina has two assists as the No. 11 MSU Denver women's soccer team beat CSU-Pueblo 3-1, improving to 10-3-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the RMAC.
2010 – Steven Emory had a goal and an assist as the No. 11 MSU Denver men's soccer team beat No. 25 Fort Lewis 3-0, improving to 9-3-2 overall and 6-2-2 in the RMAC.
2009 – Bri Morley had 14 kills on .500 hitting and Gabrielle Curtis set 39 assists as the No. 21 MSU Denver volleyball team hit .410 and won 3-0 (25-19, 30-28, 25-15) at Adams State, improving to 14-6 overall and 7-4 in the RMAC.
2006 – Phillip Owen scored with 7:39 left as the MSU Denver men's soccer team won 1-0 at CSU-Pueblo to improve to 12-4-1 overall and 8-2 in the RMAC.
2005 – Sheena McLaughlin had 14 kills and Gabrielle Curtis set 39 assists as the MSU Denver volleyball team beat Colorado Mesa 3-0 (30-24, 32-30, 30-24) to improve to 14-6 overall and 10-3 in the RMAC.
*2004 – Marina McDonald had a second-half hat trick as the No. 3 MSU Denver women's soccer team, en route to its first national championship, beat New Mexico Highlands 4-0 for its 11
th straight victory, improving to 13-1 overall and 8-0 in the RMAC and stretching its league unbeaten streak to 36, including 25 straight wins. Ymara Guante had two assists.
2004 – Stefanie Allison and Julie Green-McFarland each had 14 kills as the MSU Denver volleyball team won 3-0 (30-17, 30-25, 31-20) at Western Colorado for its sixth straight win, improving to 8-4 in the RMAC.
2000 – Jessy Roy had 18 kills on .452 hitting as the No. 25 MSU Denver volleyball team hit .375 beat CSU-Pueblo 3-0 (15-4, 15-5, 15-1) for its 13
th straight win, improving to 17-5 overall and 13-1 in the RMAC.
2000 – Marque Derenzo scored at 43:44 as the MSU Denver women's soccer team won 1-0 at CSU-Pueblo for its third straight victory.
1999 – Jared Romero scored at 97:50 as the MSU Denver men's soccer team beat Regis 2-1 in overtime to improve to 5-2 in the RMAC.
1999 – Kari Pierce had three assists and Tarena O'Neill scored two goals as the MSU Denver women's soccer team beat New Mexico Highlands 4-0 for its fourth straight victory to improve to 10-5 overall and 5-3 in the RMAC.
1998 – Kelly Hanlon had 15 kills as the No. 20 MSU Denver volleyball team won at Denver 3-0 (15-8, 15-6, 15-4) for its fourth straight sweep to improve to 14-7.
1997 – Laurie Anderson set 40 assists and had three service aces as the No. 12 MSU Denver volleyball team beat Colorado School of Mines 3-0 (15-6, 15-8, 15-5) for its fourth straight win, improving to 17-5 overall and 11-2 in the RMAC.
1996 – Mazen Kayali had a goal and two assists as the MSU Denver men's soccer team won 3-1 at Colorado School of Mines.
1994 – Chelsea Terrell had 22 kills on .444 hitting as the No. 14 MSU Denver volleyball team beat No. 17 Florida Southern 3-2 (12-15, 15-10, 13-15, 15-13, 15-9) for its second win of the day at the Tampa (Fla.) Classic. Crissy Canada had 10 kills and 11 blocks (three solo) in the opener, a 3-0 (15-2, 15-10, 15-13) win over North Florida, before getting 13 kills and six blocks in the Florida Southern win.
1993 – Rosie Durbin and Melissa Villani had goals as the MSU Denver women's soccer team beat Denver 2-0.
1993 – Tracy Thompson had 24 kills in the opener and 17 more in the second match, Chelsea Terrell had 23 kills in the first match, and Crissy Canada had matches of 14 kills and nine blocks (four solo) and 12 kills and six blocks (three solo), as the No. 4 MSU Denver volleyball team beat Chadron State 3-1 (15-9, 15-17, 15-8, 15-12) and Colorado Mesa 3-0 (15-12, 15-5, 15-9) on the first day of the Metro State Invitational to stretch its winning streak to seven while improving to 18-2.
1988 – Becky Kofoed had 27 kills, 24 digs and six blocks (one solo), and Nancy Kogle added 26 kills, 19 digs and four blocks (three solo) as the MSU Denver volleyball team had 17 total blocks and beat Alaska-Anchorage 3-2 (12-15, 16-14, 12-15, 15-12, 15-7) to improve to 15-5 overall and 5-1 in the Continental Divide Conference.
1988 – Robert Lipp scored two goals as the MSU Denver men's soccer team beat Truman State (Mo.) 3-2.
1971 – The NAIA district champion MSU Denver men's soccer team beat Colorado College 4-2.
