DENVER – It was 22 years ago today, Oct. 25, 1998, that Katie Pierce scored at 106:17 on an assist from sister Kari Pierce (who scored earlier) as the MSU Denver women's soccer team won 3-2 in overtime against Regis, improving to 15-2-1 overall and 7-2-1 in the RMAC.
That performance highlights our latest installment of "On This Date in Roadrunners History," which looks back at the biggest accomplishments in MSU Denver athletics on that particular calendar day.

2019 -- Jerry Gutierrez scored at 8:01 and Alessandro Gentile had five saves -- several of them spectacular -- as the MSU Denver men's soccer team beat UCCS 1-0.
2019 -- Kayla White had 17 kills as the MSU Denver volleyball team won 3-1 (25-20, 25-21, 17-25, 25-21) at CSU-Pueblo, improving to 14-5 overall and 9-2 in the RMAC.
2018 – Vinicius Krusser scored two goals, Gianni Steijlen had two assists, and Bryan Amouyal had a goal and an assist as the MSU Denver men's soccer team scored six second-half goals and won 7-0 against Colorado Christian to improve to 8-5 in the RMAC.
*2014 – Kylie Haun had 13 kills, and Julia Dorsey had eight kills and eight blocks (two solo) as the No. 21 MSU Denver volleyball team rallied to beat Regis 3-2 (25-23, 16-25, 14-25, 25-20, 15-12) and improve to 19-3 overall and 13-1 in the RMAC.
2013 – Clyde Glastetter scored at 101:26 and Brenden Hughes had a goal and an assist as the MSU Denver men's soccer team overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit and won 2-1 in overtime at CSU-Pueblo to improve to 9-3-3 overall and 7-2-2 in the RMAC.
2009 – Scott Grode had two assists as the No. 25 MSU Denver men's soccer team won 2-0 at Colorado Mesa to improve to 10-5-2 overall and 7-3-2 in the RMAC.
2008 – Chelsea Rutter finished 12th in a field of 101 to lead the MSU Denver women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the RMAC Championships.
2008 – Brice Young finished 24th in a field of 85 to lead the MSU Denver men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the RMAC Championships.
2007 – Julie Green-McFarland had 14 kills and Bri Ostler had 27 digs as the MSU Denver volleyball team beat Colorado Christian 3-0 (30-17, 30-25, 30-24) to improve to 11-5 in the RMAC.
*2002 – Nicki Fusco had 15 kills and four service aces, and Devon Herron set 44 assists, as the No. 12 MSU Denver volleyball team beat Regis 3-0 (32-30, 30-20, 30-25) to improve to 20-4 overall and 15-0 in the RMAC.
1998 – Bubba Davis had two assists and Cory Brown had a goal and an assist as the MSU Denver men's soccer team won 3-0 against Montana State-Billings to improve to 10-6.
1996 – Scott Gardner and Chris Johnson scored the goals as the MSU Denver men's soccer team won 2-0 at UCCS.
1996 – Judy Glassman had 13 kills as the MSU Denver volleyball team won 3-0 (15-3, 15-4, 15-4) against Fort Hays State (Kan.).
1993 – Tracy Thompson had 16 kills as the No. 4 MSU Denver volleyball team won 3-0 (15-10, 15-12, 15-5) at UCCS, improving to 22-2 overall and 9-1 in the Colorado Athletic Conference.
1990 – Darcie Inglee had 12 kills on .526 hitting he MSU Denver volleyball team won 3-1 at CSU-Pueblo (15-5, 15-10, 14-16, 15-7).
1986 – Cindi Weishapl had a goal and an assist in the first half as the MSU Denver women's soccer team won 3-1 at Westmont (Calif.)
1977 – The MSU Denver volleyball team won 3-0 against CSU-Pueblo to improve to 13-4-1 overall and 4-2 in the Intermountain Athletic Conference.
