League leader averaged 18.5 rebounds in two games

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – MSU Denver's Laolu Oke, after averaging 18.5 rebounds per game and posting the two highest single-game rebound totals in Division II this season, has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Oke matched a program record with 20 rebounds in a 78-62 win over Colorado Christian and then got 17 more in a 72-56 victory over South Dakota Mines. He tied the program record of 20 rebounds in a game set by Ken Turner in 1993.
 
Oke is the only player to grab more than 17 rebounds in a Division II game this season, and he leads Division II in total rebounds (70). He also blocked two shots and collected three steals in the two games.
 
He leads the RMAC, and ranks fifth in Division II, with an average of 11.5 rebounds per game, while leading the nation in offensive rebounds with an average of 6.5 per game.
 
Against Colorado Christian, Oke had a double-double of 14 points and 20 rebounds, while adding two assists, one blocked shot and one steal. He made 7 of 10 from the field.
 
He scored just two points against South Dakota Mines, but in addition to his 17 boards he had one assist, one blocked shot and two steals.
