DENVER – It was 16 years ago today, August 27, 2004, that MSU Denver women's soccer player Kylee Hanavan, making her Roadrunners debut, started her school-record streak of nine consecutive games with at least one goal by scoring three times in a season-opening, 5-0 victory over second-ranked Nebraska-Omaha.
MSU Denver went on to win the national championship at the end of the season.
That performance highlights our latest installment of "On This Date in Roadrunners History," which looks back at the biggest accomplishments in MSU Denver athletics on that particular calendar day.

2006 – Kylee Hanavan scored on an assist from Kira Sharp in the 34
th minute as the fifth-ranked MSU Denver women's soccer team improved to 2-0 with a 1-0 victory over St. Edward's (Texas).
2006 – Wynne Mason scored at 31:35 on an assist from Kellen Johnson as the MSU Denver men's soccer team improved to 1-1 MSU Denver and knocked off eventual national champion West Florida 1-0.
2004 – Taryn Drescher set a still-standing MSU Denver volleyball record with 41 digs in a season-opening, 3-2 (25-30, 30-24, 17-30, 30-22, 15-11) victory against Western New Mexico.
