DENVER – It was 14 years ago today, Sept. 29, 2006, that Kira Sharp scored with 4:21 left and Rachel Zollner had six saves as the MSU Denver women's soccer team tied the still-standing NCAA Division II record for consecutive games without a loss at 59 with a 1-0 victory at Central Oklahoma.
The Roadrunners improved to 12-0.
That performance highlights our latest installment of "On This Date in Roadrunners History," which looks back at the biggest accomplishments in MSU Denver athletics on that particular calendar day.

2018 – Santaisha Sturges had 10 kills on .529 hitting as the MSU Denver volleyball team beat Black Hills State 3-0 (25-19, 25-8, 25-19), improving to 10-6 overall and 6-2 in the RMAC.
2017 – Arianna Flores scored 9:34 into overtime and
Erica Torres had four saves as the MSU Denver women's soccer team won 1-0 at Westminster for its fourth straight shutout victory.
2017 – Santaisha Sturges had 19 kills and 14 digs as the MSU Denver volleyball team won 3-1 (25-15, 21-25, 30-28, 25-20) at New Mexico Highlands for its fourth straight win.
2013 – Karisa Price scored the first of four Roadrunners goals in the first half as the MSU Denver women's soccer team won 4-1 at New Mexico Highlands to improve to 5-0-3 overall and 3-0-1 in the RMAC.
2012 – Gabriel Vlahos (No. 1) and John Qualls (No. 3) both won three-set singles matches as the MSU Denver men's tennis team defeated Newman (Kan.) 7-2.
2007 – MSU Denver men's cross country runner Todd Tolentino finished 15
th to lead the Roadrunners to a second-place showing at the nine-team Rocky Mountain Shootout in Boulder, Colo. Tolentino ran 8 kilometers in 26 minutes, 44 seconds.
2005 – Stefanie Allison had 17 kills and 10 digs and Gabrielle Curtis set 45 assists as the MSU Denver volleyball team beat Adams State 3-0 (30-19, 30-23, 32-30) for its fifth straight victory, improving to 9-5 overall and 5-2 in the RMAC.
2004 – Aldo Alcaraz-Reza had two assists as the No. 22 MSU Denver men's soccer team beat St. Edward's (Texas) 4-0, improving to 7-2 with its fourth straight victory.
*2001 – Marina Bazana had 20 kills and 14 digs as the No. 11 MSU Denver volleyball team rolled past No. 4 Western Colorado 3-1 (30-28, 28-30, 30-24, 3-16) for its 11
th straight victory, improving to 14-3 overall and 7-0 in the RMAC.
*2000 – Victor Adetoye scored with 16:16 to go, Danny Gallardo tied it with 6:37 left in regulation, and Tony Thomas scored the game-winner with 1:33 left in overtime as the MSU Denver men's soccer team overcame a late 2-0 deficit and won 3-2 at Fort Lewis, improving to 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the RMAC.
1996 – Maher Kayali and Chris Johnson each had two goals as the MSU Denver men's soccer team played Fort Lewis to a wild 5-5, overtime tie.
1995 – Stacey Hoyt had 12 kills as the MSU Denver volleyball team beat No. 14 Florida Southern 3-1 (8-15, 15-4, 15-5, 15-4) and then had 18 as the Roadrunners knocked off No. 7 Central Missouri 3-2 (2-15, 15-13, 6-15, 15-6, 15-13) on the opening day of the Air Force Premier. The Roadrunners had entered the day just 4-8, though five of the losses were to teams ranked in the top eight of Division II.
1994 – Rosie Durbin scored in the 88
th minute as the MSU Denver women's soccer team came from behind to win 2-1 at Cal State San Bernardino to improve to 9-0 for the season and extend its unbeaten streak to 14 games.
1994 – Bill Kawamura had a goal and an assist as the MSU Denver men's soccer team beat CSU-Pueblo 2-1.
1993 – Tracy Thompson had 22 kills on .356 hitting as the No. 4 MSU Denver volleyball team beat UCCS 3-1 (9-15, 15-9, 15-13, 15-3) to improve to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the Colorado Athletic Conference.
1991 – Mike Najar set the MSU Denver men's soccer team's program record with 17 saves in a 2-0 overtime loss (in the days before the golden goal rule) against Cal State San Bernardino. Najar's record has been matched just once since.
1990 – Bridgette Leisure scored both goals as the MSU Denver women's soccer team won 2-1 in overtime at Northern Colorado.
1989 – Chris Hines had 14 kills and 15 digs in a win over No. 20 Florida Southern, which was the highlight of the No. 11 MSU Denver volleyball team's three 3-1 victories at the Alaska-Anchorage Tournament. The Roadrunners beat Missouri-St. Louis (16-14, 6-15, 15-4, 15-13), then Florida Southern (15-8, 15-9, 13-15, 15-7) and finally Augustana (S.D.) (13-15, 15-9, 15-3, 15-11).
1987 – The MSU Denver women's soccer team, led by all-region second-team selections Bobbi Geist and Holly Hoskins, beat Denver 1-0 for its fifth straight win, including four consecutive shutouts.
1978 – The MSU Denver volleyball team, led by AVCA regional player of the year Anita Mathes and AVCA regional coach of the year Pat Johnson, won 3-1 (15-8, 14-16, 15-3, 15-7) at CSU-Pueblo to improve to 6-0.
