COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – MSU Denver's
Kate Giordano and
Annie Rolf have been named to the Academic All-RMAC team for women's soccer.
Additionally, 13 other MSU Denver players have been recognized as part of the Academic All-RMAC honor roll.
Giordano and Rolf are among 11 players across the conference recognized for their academic and athletic success in voting by league sports information directors. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30, must have been part of the program for at least two full semesters and must be in the process of using a season of eligibility.
Giordano, a returning 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, is a three-season starter at outside back who ranks third on the team among field players with 1,051 minutes played while helping the Roadrunners allow only 11 goals through 14 games. She has also contributed one assist. Giordano has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 while majoring in biology, with a minor in psychology, and she is a four-time selection to the MSU Denver Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Rolf was named to the 2020-21 All-RMAC first team. This season, despite being the focal point of opposing defenses, she has two goals and a team-best five assists. She's fourth in the RMAC in assists per game (0.42) and fifth in total assists. Rolf had five goals in eight games during the spring season after transferring from West Florida, where she earned All-South Region second team honors, including National Player of the Week recognition. She has a cumulative GPA of 3.89 while majoring in sport management.
