LEXINGTON, Ky. – Once again, the MSU Denver volleyball team has earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for 2020-21.
Not only that, the Roadrunners are also among the top 20 percent of all team grade point averages in Division II, earning them a place on the AVCA's Team Academic Honor Roll, the highest scholarly achievement in the sport.
The United States Marines Corps/American Volleyball Coaches' Association award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.
The Roadrunners had 15 players with GPAs of at least 3.50 in the spring semester and for the 2020-21 academic year compiled a team GPA of 3.79.
MSU Denver has earned the team academic award seven times, including the last five years in a row.
