COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The MSU Denver cross country programs turned in strong finishes once again Saturday at the Ted Castaneda Classic.
The women raced to a second-place finish as six runners placed in the top 15. The men finished fourth.
"While there is still much to be done within both teams before we get to the conference and regional championships, the hard work these athletes are putting in and the grit they are showing in competition is making us very excited for what is yet to come," MSU Denver coach
Janis Christopher said.
For the women,
Erin Norton raced to a fifth-place finish over the six-kilometer course at Monument Valley Park in 22 minutes, 43.2 seconds. Not far behind though were
Vanessa Kort in seventh (22:49.7),
Anna Swanson in eighth (23:03.0) and
Alliyah Molina in ninth (23:23.3).
Abi Read was 12
th and
Audrey Orstead was 15
th.

Alliyah Molina finished 7-8-9, respectively, and are gelling as the kind of pack that will help the team continue to find success," MSU Denver coach
Janis Christopher said.
Oticio Herrera led the Roadrunners' men by placing 13
th and running 8K in 27:00.4.
Peter Speier was 22
nd.
"The men had two top-25 finishes and a number of significant personal bests," Christopher said.
MSU Denver hosts the Roadrunner Invitational on Friday at Washington Park.
