COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Maya Ries set another school record in the 60-meter hurdles and
Erin Norton ran a provisional qualifying time for indoor nationals in the 5,000 to highlight MSU Denver's efforts at the opening day of the Mountain Lion Open.

Ries set the school record in the 60 hurdles for the second week in a row, this time finishing in 9.13 seconds to finish with the third-fastest qualifying time in the event. She's lowered the school mark by .65 in her first two collegiate events.
Norton won the 5,000 in 18:00.84, her third-fastest time in the event as a Roadrunner and it's the seventh-best time for MSU Denver. With the conversion for altitude and track size, her time of 17:11.13 ranks 12
th in Division II this season.
Anna Swanson was fourth in the event in 19:04.39 and
Abi Read was fifth in 19:07.25, a personal best.
Jaivion Lattimore qualified for fifth for Saturday's finals in the 60 with a solid 7.88 in preliminaries that is the sixth-fastest ever run by a Roadrunner and is .07 off Lattimore's school-record time.
Allyssa Romero finished third in the 200 finals in a personal-best 26.44, while Lattimore was fourth in 26.51 and
Kamryn Scott placed seventh in 26.79.
Jocelyn Korbe was third in the long jump with a 4.84-meter leap.
For the men,
Anthony Martinez, the second-fastest hurdler in men's program history, finished third in in the finals while improving his career-best time to 8.33.
Noel Lopez was third in the 5,000 in 15:53.27,
JJ Ramey was fourth in 16:02.36, and
Oticio Herrera was fifth in 16:23.36.
Brant Killmon was fifth in the long jump with an effort of 6.58 meters and fifth in the high jump at 1.88.
