BOULDER, Colo. — MSU Denver indoor track and field delivered another strong showing Friday afternoon at the Colorado Last Chance Qualifier in Boulder, highlighted by a school-record performance and multiple event titles as the Roadrunners tuned up for the RMAC Championships. Friday's action featured the track athletes, while the field competitors will be in action Saturday at Western Colorado.
Odone Omofoma stole the spotlight in the women's 200 meters, clocking a school-record 25.07 to finish second in the event. Her time not only reset the MSU Denver standard but also ranks inside the top 10 in the RMAC this season, positioning her as a key contender heading into the conference meet. Teammate Arianna Toaipa followed closely behind in third at 25.28, while Ana Fresquez-Castro placed seventh.
Sean Pecenka continued his dominant indoor campaign in the men's 60-meter hurdles, winning the event in 8.45. Pecenka led a strong group effort for the Roadrunners, as Aden Guenther (8.52) finished third and Brandon Aviles (8.54) placed fifth, giving MSU Denver three of the top five spots in the finals. David Klisarski rounded out the squad in seventh.
Kenny Greene added another standout performance to his stellar season, taking second in the men's 400 meters with a blistering 47.64. Greene has consistently been among the conference's top performers this winter, and Friday's result further solidified his momentum heading into championship competition. Jacob Simpson also competed in the event, placing 17th.
In the men's 200 meters, Owen Clarke (22.14) and De'Aundrae Harris (22.19) finished second and third, respectively, in a tightly contested race. Jessica Hobson sprinted to a fourth-place finish in the women's 60 meters with a time of 7.97.
The middle-distance group also delivered strong efforts. Elijah Garcia placed second in the men's 800 meters in 1:56.45, while Peyton Meier (2:20.55) and Tanis Chavez (2:27.08) finished third and fifth, respectively, in the women's 800. In the mile, Darren Hayden led a deep men's field with a seventh-place finish in 4:17.73, followed by Cian Nagle (10th), Parker Davidson (11th) and Eisen Dacus (12th). On the women's side, Avanti Wadhwa secured a podium finish, placing third in 5:19.17.
With multiple podium finishes, a school record, and strong depth across sprints and distance events, the Roadrunners built valuable momentum at the final qualifier before shifting focus to the RMAC Indoor Championships.
