Division II Softball National Championship Set for Assembly Athletic Complex

MSU Denver hosts the eight-team event for the third time in four years

DENVER – For the third time in four years, the NCAA Division II Softball Championship is about to play out at MSU Denver's Assembly Athletic Complex.

Eight regional champions from around the country have earned spots in the tournament, which is a double-elimination event until two finalists emerge. From there it's a best-of-three series to determine the title.

Play begins Thursday at 11 a.m., with four games scheduled for each of the first two days. Two games will be played Saturday.
Sunday's schedule will include anywhere from two to four games. The national championship series starts at noon Monday, and Game 2 would be Tuesday at noon, with Game 3 (if necessary) to follow.

You can follow the six-day event at Tournament Central.

The tournament field includes top-ranked and top-seeded Texas-Tyler, third-ranked Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.), fourth-ranked Rogers State (Okla.). No. 10 Southern Indiana, No. 18 North Georgia and No. 22 Adelphi (N.Y.) as well as Cal State Dominguez Hills and Seton Hill (Pa.).

Besides Texas-Tyler (45-7) in the seedings are Adelphi (47-13), Auburn-Montgomery (48-11), Southern Indiana (49-11), Rogers State (53-10), Seton Hill (41-10), North Georgia (46-15) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (41-21).

Only North Georgia was in the 2021 championship field, and none of the teams that played in Denver in 2019 are back.
