INDIANAPOLIS – Despite a rough weekend at Regis, the MSU Denver baseball team has held onto sixth in the second official NCAA Division II South Central Region rankings of the season.
The NCAA uses the region rankings to determine at-large berths into the NCAA Tournament's South Central Regional at the end of the season. Six teams – tournament champions from the Rocky Mountain Athletic and Lone Star Conferences as well as the four highest-ranked remaining teams – advance to the regional.
Regional ranking committees determine the rankings after evaluating a number of statistical categories.
MSU Denver lost three of four games last weekend, but is still tied for third in the RMAC heading into the final weekend of the regular season. The Roadrunners (28-18) play host to a four-game series against Colorado Christian on Friday and Saturday, with doubleheaders set to start at 4 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
