@MSUDenverMBB: Roadrunners Surge to Nos. 8, 11 in National Polls

Ranking by coaches is the program's highest since Dec. 9, 2014

DENVER – One week after rejoining the men's basketball national rankings, MSU Denver has returned to the Division II top 10.

The Roadrunners, 6-0 to match their best start to a season since the 2012-13 team opened at 22-0, are ranked No. 8 in the NABC coaches' poll and No. 11 in the D2SIDA poll of sports information directors.

The No. 8 ranking by the coaches is the program's highest since Dec. 9, 2014, when the Roadrunners were ranked seventh by the coaches and tied for fifth in the media poll.

Last week the Roadrunners were ranked 15th by the coaches and 18th by SIDs, and they were promoted after wins against Seattle Pacific and Simon Fraser (B.C.).

MSU Denver will play its fourth and fifth consecutive home games this weekend, as it opens Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play Friday at 7 p.m. against Westminster and Saturday at 5:30 p.m. against Colorado Mesa at the Auraria Event Center.

Mesa, 3-1, is ranked 18th by the coaches and is receiving votes in the D2SIDA poll.
