PEMBROKE, N.C. – The MSU Denver baseball team is back in the national top 25, landing at No. 23 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's initial regular-season poll.
The Roadrunners were 26
th among teams receiving votes in the preseason poll.
MSU Denver is off to a 6-1 start after a three-game sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State and a 3-1 series win at Biola (Calif.).
The Roadrunners play four games this weekend in Pittsburg, Kan., two each against Sioux Falls (S.D.) and host Pittsburg State.
MSU Denver ranks sixth in Division II in doubles per game (3.0) and 10
th in home runs (12), while the pitching staff is 12
th nationally with an average of 11.3 strikeouts per nine innings.
