COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Tyrei Randall has capped his MSU Denver career by being named to the All-RMAC second team, while guard
Brayden Maldonado has started his by being named the league's Co-Freshman of the Year.
Voting by Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference coaches also led to Roadrunners forward
Caleb McGill earning All-RMAC honorable mention.
Randall averaged a team-best 15.8 points while also adding 4.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He scored 1,139 points in his collegiate career, including 980 in three seasons with MSU Denver, a total that ranks 20
th in program history.
His career scoring average of 13.8 ranks 11
th all-time at MSU Denver, and he's fifth in program history with 379 made 3-pointers.
Maldonado is the first player in program history to receive Freshman of the Year recognition.
He played in 28 games, starting 27, and averaged 8.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists and had a solid assist-to-turnover ratio of +1.8. Maldonado also shot 81.7 percent from the free throw line (58 of 71).
McGill, a sophomore transfer from Division I UC Davis, had an excellent first season with the Roadrunners, averaging 13.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocked shots per game. He shot 54.8 percent from the field (148 of 270), good for fifth in the RMAC, and he also made 82.6 percent of his free throws (90 of 109) to rank seventh in the RMAC.
