DENVER – The MSU Denver baseball team enters its second weekend of the RMAC portion of the schedule looking to bounce back.
The Roadrunners play host to UCCS at the Assembly Athletic Complex, with a single game scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m., a doubleheader beginning at noon Saturday, and a single game on Sunday at noon.
MSU Denver will wear power blue jerseys during Sunday's 1980s Throwback Day.
After a disappointing series at Colorado Mesa when the Roadrunners lost three of four games, they are looking to make up ground in the league standings.
Despite a series loss on the road against a perennial national power, both major Division II polls dropped MSU Denver out of the national ratings – the Roadrunners had been No. 13 in the NCBWA poll and No. 27 in Collegiate Baseball.
MSU Denver is still ranked second in Division II in doubles (61) and home runs (45), third in hits (286) and slugging percentage (.599) and fourth in batting average (.352) and runs (238).
Individually,
Ross Smith is third nationally in doubles (13) and
Zach Schuler is eighth in RBIs (35).
