Tanner Garner has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Player of the Week for baseball.
Garner tied the single-game RMAC record for RBIs with nine in the series opener against Regis, and for the series batted .550 (11-for-20) with five doubles, one homer and 12 RBIs as the Roadrunners went 3-1.
Garner had 11 RBIs in the first 11 innings of the series before spending most of the rest of the weekend getting on base (he also drew two walks and had a .591 on-base percentage) and scoring runs (nine). Garner's slugging percentage was .950, giving him an OPS of 1.541.
He leads the RMAC in batting at .481 for the season, and is sixth with a .533 on-base percentage as well as fourth with a 1.316 OPS. He's also third with 14 doubles and fifth with 83 total bases. Finally, he's also fifth with 11 stolen bases.
Garner ranks fourth nationally in batting average and second nationally with 1.96 hits per game.
