COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The MSU Denver women's outdoor track & field team has had four individuals and one relay officially recognized as earning spots on the All-RMAC Mountain Athletic Conference first and second teams.
Abi Read and
Maya Ries have both been named to the first team, while
Allyssa Romero,
Brooklynn Jones and the 4x100 relay all making the second team.
Positions on the All-RMAC outdoor track & field teams are based on results at the RMAC Outdoor Championships, with those finishing first through third individually going to the first team and those placing fourth through sixth named to the second team. The first-place relay makes the first team, while the second-place relay is on the second team.
Read finished second in the 10,000 meters, while Ries was third in the 100-meter hurdles. Not only did Romero finish fifth in both the 200 and 400, she was also part of the second-place 4x100 relay that included
Claire Hummel,
Jessica Hobson and
Jaivion Lattimore. Jones finished sixth in the javelin.
With four individuals and a relay, it's MSU Denver's biggest representation on the All-RMAC first and second teams since 2009, when six athletes earned individual spots (but no relays) on the first two teams.
