GREENSBORO, N.C. – The awards keep rolling in for MSU Denver second baseman
Cody Schultz, who has been named the NCAA Division II Gold Glove winner at second base by the American Baseball Coaches' Association and Rawlings.
The award signifies that Schultz is considered the best defensive player at his position among all Division II players.
Schultz is MSU Denver's first-ever national Gold Glove winner.
Schultz, who wrapped up his MSU Denver career last month, was previously named to the All-America third team by three organizations (ABCA, D2CCA, NCBWA) as well as earning All-South Central Region first team honors from all three. He was All-RMAC first team this season after making the league's second team last year.
Schultz won his second straight RMAC Gold Glove as well. In 213 chances this season, Schultz had a .991 fielding percentage, with 70 putouts and 141 assists and just two errors.
