@MSUDenverXCTF: Romero Earns RMAC Women's Track Athlete of Week Honor

Sprinter posted excellent times in two events

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – MSU Denver's Allyssa Romero has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Women Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Romero, the school record holder in both the 200 and 400 meters indoors, turned in the program's 2nd-fastest 400 meters time ever while finishing second in 57.06 seconds and also ran her third-fastest 200 time while finishing eighth in 25.45 at the Potts Invitational.

In both races, only Division I competitors finished ahead of Romero. Romero's 400 time (after the conversion) ranks 26th in Division II. She ranks fourth in the RMAC in 400 and fifth in the 200.

It's just the fifth time and MSU Denver woman has earned an RMAC indoor track athlete of the week honor, and the first since Erin Norton on Dec. 21, 2020.
